About this nursery
Sleepy Gap Pawpaws started when the family could not buy enough pawpaw trees to fill their own mountain orchard outside Asheville, so they learned to graft their own. Today the orchard runs 150 trees across 24 varieties, and the nursery grafts hundreds more each year, specializing in Peterson and Kentucky State University selections. Everything here is pawpaw: trees, fruit in season, scionwood, and seed.
