Privacy Policy

Effective 2026-08-21.

The short version

PawpawMap has no user accounts, collects no names or addresses, and sells nothing about you to anyone. The site keeps standard, aggregate analytics so we can tell which pages help people, and that is essentially it.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand, in aggregate, how visitors find and use the site: pages viewed, approximate region, device type, and how people move through a page. These services set cookies and process data under their own privacy policies. We do not use this data to identify individuals, and we do not run personalized advertising.

Hosting

The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes visitor IP addresses as part of normal content delivery and security (for example, blocking abusive traffic). We do not maintain our own server logs of your visits beyond what these providers process to operate the service.

Newsletter

Subscribing to the newsletter is voluntary and double opt-in. Your email address is used only to deliver the newsletter, is never sold or rented, and is processed by our email service provider solely for that purpose. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, which takes effect immediately.

Submissions

Sending a correction or suggesting a place through the submission form is voluntary. We use what you send only to verify and improve the directory. An email address is optional; we use it only to reply about that submission and never publish it or add it to any list.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links are affiliate links (for example, to Amazon). If you buy through one, the retailer may set cookies and pays this site a small commission at no extra cost to you. The retailer's own privacy policy governs what they collect. See our Terms of Use for the full disclosure.

Social media

PawpawMap runs accounts on social platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. If you follow, comment, or message us there, that interaction is governed by the platform's privacy policy. We see what the platform shows any page owner: aggregate reach and engagement statistics, plus public comments and messages sent to us. We do not export follower lists or combine platform data with anything else.

Data deletion

The site keeps no user accounts, so for most visitors there is nothing to delete. If you emailed us or used the submission form and want that correspondence removed, or you want anything else associated with you deleted, tell us through the submission form and we will remove it. Newsletter data is deleted by unsubscribing (the link is in every email).

Children

The site is a general-audience plant directory and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy at any time; the effective date above reflects the latest revision.
