Clear Ridge Nursery
Clear Ridge Nursery, a family-owned wholesale grower in Union Bridge, Maryland, counts pawpaw among the native species it profiles for conservation and reforestation planting. Since 1994 the nursery has raised container natives on 87 acres in Carroll County, now more than 70 species in 1 to 25 gallon pots, sold to landscape contractors, watershed groups, and government agencies across the Mid-Atlantic with delivery in and out of state. Its pawpaw guidance is practical: plant three or more for good fruiting, and start from a container because a field-dug taproot transplants poorly. This is trade-scale sourcing rather than a garden center; retail sales have ended, remaining public purchases carry minimums, and pawpaw does not appear on every seasonal availability sheet, so confirm current stock before ordering.

Northwoods Wholesale Nursery
Northwoods Nursery, founded by Jim Gilbert in 1979, grows pawpaw cultivars trademarked by Kentucky State University under license on 66 acres in Oregon's Willamette Valley, where the temperate climate lets it grow an unusually wide range of fruiting plants. Decades of fruit exploring built the catalog, from overseas collecting trips to the USDA germplasm repositories. It supplies plants solely to wholesale customers, garden centers, mail-order firms, re-wholesalers and commercial growers, on a $300 minimum order and 10 plants per variety.

Raemelton Farm
Raemelton Farm is a wholesale tree nursery growing balled-and-burlapped landscape trees under USDA organic certification. Pawpaw is a minor seedling-bed item rather than a headline crop, so availability is thin and worth confirming ahead. The customer base is landscapers and institutions more than walk-in retail.
