Highland Farm & Garden grows pawpaws in an orchard of about 1,200 trees that it began planting in 2016 on its farm near Meadville, Pennsylvania. It has been harvesting fruit since 2021. Fresh fruit sells by the pound off the farm, arranged by email or text, and at the Bloomfield Saturday Market in Pittsburgh in the fall; the farm does not ship pawpaws. It also sells frozen whole pawpaws, which it suggests for mead, wine, beer, ice cream and smoothies. The farm began as a hobby farm in 2008, uses no herbicides or pesticides, keeps sheep, alpacas and honeybees, and takes visits by appointment.
