Trees of Joy in Bethlehem and The Banana Tree in Easton ship pawpaw trees, Three Springs Fruit Farm in Aspers sells the fruit, and the York County Pawpaw Festival at the Horn Farm Center celebrates the season. Pennsylvania pawpaws ripen from late August into early October. In the cooler north, an early-ripening variety is the safer call, so look for Allegheny, Pennsylvania Golden, or Summer Delight.
