Peterson Pawpaws
Tallahatchie is a Peterson Pawpaws variety, bred by Neal Peterson, mid to late season, ripening mid to late September in Maryland.
Tallahatchie pawpaw is the most recent Peterson introduction, described as sweet and well-balanced with a pleasant aroma, floral notes and a very smooth, silky texture. The medium-to-large fruit is low in seed and borne in large clusters that may need thinning. As a newer release to licensed nurseries, firsthand grower feedback is still limited; it ripens mid to late September in Maryland.
