Inaugural festival announced for September 26-27, 2026; two-day pawpaw and permaculture celebration.
7 verified places to buy or pick pawpaws in New York. Confirm availability before you visit. Pawpaw season is short.
New York's pawpaw community is more active than the northern climate might suggest, and trees and fruit are not hard to find. Twisted Tree Farm in Spencer and Sheffield's Seed Co. in Locke ship pawpaw trees and seed, and the New York Pawpaw Festival in Coeymans Hollow celebrates the harvest. Much of the state runs a short season with fruit ripening from mid-September into October, so early-ripening varieties earn their place; Allegheny, Kentucky Champion, and Pennsylvania Golden hold up best across a New York fall.
