Mango is a fast growing heirloom obtained from collector Major C. Collins near Tifton, Georgia in 1970, named for its vivid orange pulp rather than its flavor, which growers most often compare to candied banana. Nursery listings place its ripening in September to October, though seller descriptions disagree and one lists it as earlier. Note that the cultivars sold as Collin's and Collins Select trace to the same Georgia collection, so descriptions overlap between the names.
Mango since it grows so much faster than others and still tasty.
